Castro Valley Unified School District Appoints
Stacey T. Lillard
for
Special Education Director
Castro Valley, CA – (June 14, 2023) – At the June 14th board meeting, the Castro Valley Unified School District Board of Education took action to select Ms. Stacey T. Lillard for the position of Special Education Director.
With over 22 years of experience in Special Education, Ms. Lillard began as a case manager at the Regional Center of the East Bay. In this role, she managed student cases for various disabilities and healthcare needs. She moved on to become a school psychologist at the Solano County Office of Education, where she conducted psycho-educational evaluations for severely disabled students and students transitioning to adulthood programs. She also counseled students who resided in the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. In 2011, Ms. Lillard became a coordinator at the San Joaquin County Office of Education, where she introduced Curriculum Based Therapy for students facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges in small group activities.
Ms. Lillard previously served as a principal at the Santa Clara County of Education. During that time, she helped school districts place students with moderate to severe disabilities. She now holds the position of coordinator of Special Education and Student Services at the Milpitas Unified School District. Ms. Lillard earned her Bachelor's in Psychology and a Minor in Human Biology from California State University, East Bay. She earned her Master's in Educational Leadership from Alliant International University.
