Dear INDY Families -  We are proud to share that Paula Merrigan, one of our Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teachers, is featured in this EdSource article on the power of play-based learning in TK. Paula’s classroom reflects the joy, curiosity, and growth that come from developmentally appropriate, play-centered instruction. As one of the founding TK teachers at Independent—and across CVUSD—Paula represents the outstanding work of our entire TK team. We are proud that our TK classrooms provide environments where students build foundational academic skills through discovery, play, and hands-on experiences, while also nurturing confidence, creativity, and a love of learning.
